I've turned into a nesting bird.

i've turned into some kind of pot bellied bird in the last 24 hours. or maybe its 48?

in this time i've sorted out all of DJ's baby clothes. washed two loads (big ones!) of washing and made soup. i also made self sausing pudding which resulted in me eating the whole thing as i got a huge ass blister on my finger from the sause which overfollowed and burnt the bottom of my oven (baby brain made me forget to put something under it!) so i figered i needed some comfort food.
But i'll be re-baking it (and dubbleing it too lol) for freezing. i also have my inlaws comming over for dinner so once DH is home and hands over some $$ i'll go get that. which is a nice easy roast. yes, i said it. roasts are easy. one (mmk maybe two) pot meals.

my roast is:
Cut up spuds so they kinda look the same (pfft if they dont i like em cruchy)
cut up carrots so they're semi normal looking
throw in some pickleing onions - peeled and toped and tailed (yep, im lazy!)
put some oil (i'm currently getting rid of some crappy olive oil) and sprinkle with garlic salt. (ok, smother in garlic salt) throw meat on top of said pickleing onions so its kept off the bottom of the pan and shove into oven thats around 170Âșc (or near enough too) for about half an hour per 500g.(give or take i like my meat pink)
in another pot throw water, bring to boil. throw in broccoli for around 30 seconds - makes it nice and green but you dont kill the good stuff in it. then throw in beans for around the same time. and if corn on the cob is invloved throw that in after that and let it cook for a bit. then throw it all on a plate and go "eat it or die" and people seem to like it.

i think i'll be making some Veggie and Barli soup this week - at DH's request. he loves barli. also chic peas. i'm thinking i'll try and make some more spag bowl sause and maybe even some lamb shanks or alike. so i have something meaty there post- birth. i also need to show DH how to use the rice cooker. i'm also thinking i'll bake up some muffins as well to freeze so when people "pop over" i can feed them something other then...air and coffee. plus i like to munch on things. it'll also give me a chance to work out what freezes well as my cousin is expecting twins in sept. so i'm planning on making them a freezer full of foods (i'm assumeing that they'll be in hopsital for a little while) to make it easier for them - even though DJ was in SCN for only a week i know how good it can be to have food to come home to and "nuke".

we're still waiting on some bifold frames DH ordered 6 weeks ago 0_0 which is pissing me off. alot. as with out them we cant re-arrange the rooms as we need the out door space to put things while moving/clean bits up. plus i know the house would be warmer with them as the pergola they're going on can warm up nicely on winter arvos. but on the upside DH did buy some new edgeing stuff to put around our water meater on the front lawn - so it wont look like a desert island for much longer (compleat with lonely bush/succulent thingy...which didn't die dispite being in the middle of the lawn on black saterday!)

now all i need is for bundy to move their head into a better spot in my pelvis because every time i bend over it hurts! that would be nice. along with getting all the washing done and dishes before DJ wakes up and DH gets home from work!
